From concept to MVP, we shaped a web and mobile app in a startup environment to give professionals clarity, connection, and pathways to growth.
JobChat is a web and mobile app built in Flutter to help career explorers organize resources, find support, and connect with experts in a friendly, professional space. Partnering with the Product Owner — a Google developer — I co-created the product from concept to MVP, testing with real users to validate the experience. Beyond the MVP, I expanded the design into a scalable workspace, creating the brand identity, UI system, and interaction patterns for long-term growth.
JobChat was designed for professionals navigating sensitive career transitions who often felt overlooked by traditional networking platforms. Research showed users wanted a more private and supportive space, as many felt lonely, embarrassed, or hesitant to use real names. The challenge was to design a product that balanced clarity, connection, and privacy while helping users set goals, track progress, and find guidance.
I worked closely with the Product Owner and engineering lead to shape JobChat from the ground up. Research and usability testing informed key features like Matching, Journey Cards, and Privacy controls. I designed branding, flows, and a Material Design–based system, iterating rapidly through prototypes with early adopters. Close collaboration with engineering ensured design and development stayed in sync, turning ideas into a validated MVP and a foundation for growth.
The MVP launched with a pilot community of 100 Explorers and 30 Experts, validating the concept and refining features through real-world use. The scalable design system and brand positioned JobChat for growth, while ongoing testing shaped next-stage workspace explorations. The project also deepened my collaboration with engineering, showing how tight designer–developer partnership accelerates building human-centered products.
